Awards 08 - 09
This year we came up with a few awards categories. Treads CC aren't really a trophy type club so we decided the award was a bottle of Wychwood - Goliath
Most Improved
Paul Robertson - Paul qualified as an elite rider last year. As some of you may know to get to this level takes a great level of commitment. Well done Paul.
Best Crash
Dennis Huizinga - While on our annual trip to wales in 08 Dennis managed to find the deepest stream while riding at llandegla and flip over the handlebars into it. Dennis also qualified for the bog snorkeling award.
Best All rounder
Mike Tibbits - Mike has been experimenting this year with everything on 2 wheels, XC, Downhill, Dual Slalom, Road Racing and Time trials.
Best FNSS 2008 Finisher
Steve Moore - Steve earned his bottle after a hard fought battle with the top 10 FNSS vets finishing in a very respectable 6th place overall. Point to note this was Steves first crack at the FNSS race series.
Most Attended Rides
Tony Skirro - What it says on the tin really, Tony says he will ride what ever and knowing there will be people waiting at the meeting point is reason enough to get up and lead the rides.
Worst Bike Builder/Mechanic
Chris Howard - The club chairman was a good candidate for this award until Chris managed to snap 2 frames due to not taking welding weak spots into consideration. Thanks Chris
Least Attended Rides
Dave Tilby - What can we say really, there is riding socially every now and then. We then have Dave who is just lazy... Dave was awarded some bottles of Snowball because he is not quite rugged enough to qualify for the bottle of Wychwood - Goliath.
Pink Handbag
Sarah Beeby - Sarah went into panic mode while thinking of her holiday legs, not wanting to get them scratched Sarah gently persuaded Dennis they wouldn't be riding through the nettles. Sarah was awarded the aptly named pink handbag, and a bottle of pink sidekick.
Person Who Embodies Treads Cycle Club
Ian Towers - It was decided Ian is Treads. Riding week-in week-out, organising social trips to wales, and drinking until he saw 2 of everything in our favorite watering hole The Stag Inn, Wales. Ian received 2 bottles of Wychwood - Goliath.
